Areas Of Practice
Nancy Bornn currently focuses her law practice on conducting workplace investigations, teaching anti-discrimination and anti-harassment classes to management and staff (utilizing Classroom Jeopardy as a fun and effective interactive teaching tool), and testifying as an expert witness on Human Resource policies and standards. In her over 30 years of practicing law, she has litigated, arbitrated and mediated hundreds of employment disputes on behalf of plaintiffs, and counseled hundreds of employers in the areas of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, employment policies, privacy issues, and wrongful termination.

Ms. Bornn has been named as one of the
top four leading employment lawyers by Chambers USA, America’s
Leading Business Lawyers, 2003-2004. From 2006-2010, she has been
named as one of Southern California Super Lawyers, as well as one of
the Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers in Southern California
by the American Lawyer Media.
Ms. Bornn is the author of
“Representing California Sexual Harassment Plaintiffs,”
(James Publishing Company 2004), updated in part 2007 (Bornn &
Surls 2007). The book and update is available for purchase on her

She is also a contributing author to the 2010 update to “Sexual
Harassment in Employment Law,” Lindemann & Kadue (BNA).
She has taught the continuing legal education employment law updates
throughout the country for over two decades and has written numerous
articles on employment law issues, including co-authoring a recent
article entitled “Practice Pointers for Workplace
Investigations,” (Nancy Bornn & Debra Reilly 2010), to be
published in the first edition (January 2010) of the California
Association of Workplace Investigations, Inc. Quarterly
(www.caowi.org).
